Fees, commission and charges

Here’s a simple breakdown of all the fees and costs associated with MyKitPlace.com

  • Membership is free. There is no fee to become a member, set up a profile or list equipment to rent.
  • MyKitPlace takes a commission of 15% of the total rental fee per transaction. This covers the running costs of the site and the payment system transaction fee (at 3%). The full profit, 85% of the rental fee, goes to the kit owner.
  • All prices set by the kit owner should be inclusive of VAT if relevant. No tax is added to the hire separately. See our guide to VAT charges here.

Cancellations fees:

  • If the Renter cancels a confirmed hire within 24 hours of hire date – Renter pays 100% of the rental fee
  • If at any time the Owner cancels a confirmed hire, 100% of the fee is returned to the Renter.

A rental can be canceled at any time by either the Owner or the Hirer.

Payments to members: These are made via our payment providers, Stripe, direct to the account linked with your profile. Payments for rentals are made by the Renter at the time of confirmation and passed on to the kit owner. Payments are credited by Stripe on a weekly basis. No money is held by MyKitPlace.com during the process.
